International Student Resources
With the international market for college students growing at an exponential rate, these sites attempt to give "international" students tips on what it takes to apply to schools in a country other than their native land. SPECIAL NOTE: US citizens living overseas and who are applying to US colleges are generally not considered "international" students. Several of these sites, however, do include relevant information to US students studying at international high schools outside of the US.
- American Colleges and Universities
- This is a well thought out resource for students seeking an education in the US...excellent articles. Appropriate for "international" students as well as US students studying at international high schools.
- Australian Universities
- IDP, an advisory service located in Singapore provides excellent resources for families interested in Australian Universities.
- Colleges and Universities Worldwide (Yahoo)
- An almost impossible task to compile a worldwide listing of colleges, this is the easiest to navigate site I have found.
- EduPass! The Smart Student Guide to Studying in the USA
- Brief overviews of cultural differences, student visas, info on international students, selecting a college and more. A good place to start.
- Egypt, Universities in
- Links to all of the major universities in Egypt, including American University in Cairo and Cairo University.
- International Education
- More resources for the international student.
- International Education and Finances
- Some international students might erroneously get the impression that there are tons of money awaiting the international undergraduate at most US universities; references here appear to be focused on graduate level. Alternative?? If you have terrific grades, outstanding scores, and a great resume, see your counselor for a listing of the US schools which do provide generous tuition assistance to international students.
- Macleans Rankings of Canadian Colleges
- You guessed it, another magazine's attempt at ranking schools based on selected criteria...worth a look at the methodology, could help you decide how to look at Canadian or any other country's schools.
- Ontario Universities' Application Centre
- One online app for all of the universities in Ontario, Canada. Very user friendly!
- Study in British Columbia
- Site has searchable program and links to BC universities and colleges; online applications available.
- StudyinCanada.com
- One of the best comprehensive sites for students interested in Canadian schools.
- United Kingdom (UCAS)
- Comprehensive site for students interested in applying to universities in the UK. Links to websites and details on electronic submission process.
